Artisan was launched in 2009 by the House of John Varvatos. The perfume is classified as a fresh, citrus-spicy fragrance. The perfumer behind this fragrance is John Varvatos himself, in collaboration with Givaudan perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, a duo also responsible for all other Varvatos fragrances. Top notes are garden marjoram, thyme, tangerine, and clementine. These transition into a floral heart wrapped in jasmine, orange blossom, and lavender, with a hint of ginger. The base contains accords of musk, amber, and various woods, which perfectly bring out the best in the whole. The bottle looks like a woven basket and was designed by Jon Cisler Design.
